Survwin — Cookie & Storage Policy
This Cookie & Storage Policy explains how Survwin uses cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and similar technologies (“Tracking Technologies”) to operate our platform, protect survey integrity, prevent fraud, and ensure accurate point and reward handling.
1. Scope
This policy applies to Survwin websites, pages, and web apps, including surveys and task flows accessed through Survwin. It also applies to any embedded tools used for verification or fraud prevention.
2. What Cookies and Storage Are
- Cookies are small text files stored by your browser that help a website remember information between visits or during a session.
- localStorage is a browser storage mechanism that can retain data until it is deleted (manually or programmatically).
- sessionStorage is similar to localStorage but typically resets when you close your browser tab or session.
- Device and browser signals include technical indicators (e.g., browser type, time zone, language, and risk signals) used for integrity checks.
3. What We Use (Categories)
Survwin may use one or more of the following categories of Tracking Technologies:
- Strictly Necessary — required to deliver core functionality (e.g., survey access, security checks, session continuity).
- Security & Anti-Abuse — used to detect cheating, duplicate submissions, automation, multi-account activity, or suspicious patterns.
- Preference & UI — saves non-sensitive settings such as theme, layout preferences, or form progress where applicable.
- Performance & Diagnostics — helps measure reliability and detect errors (e.g., crash reporting, load performance, functional analytics).
4. Purposes (Why We Use Them)
- Integrity and fairness: prevent multiple submissions, detect manipulation, and ensure equal opportunity for participants.
- Accurate points and rewards: track task completion states and verify eligibility before awarding points.
- Platform security: protect users and staff from account abuse, bot activity, and malicious traffic.
- Operational continuity: keep essential flows working reliably (e.g., submission confirmation, cooldowns, and verification states).
- Quality and stability: identify performance issues and improve user experience without exposing sensitive data.
5. Examples of Data Stored
Depending on the feature, Tracking Technologies may store or reference information such as:
- Submission flags (e.g., “already submitted” markers) and timestamps for cooldown periods.
- Non-sensitive UI preferences (e.g., theme selection).
- Form state metadata (e.g., step completion, draft status) where applicable.
- Security indicators and risk signals to detect automation or repeated abuse attempts.
We do not intentionally store payout credentials, passwords, or other high-risk secrets in cookies/localStorage. If you choose to enter such data elsewhere, it is handled through the relevant secure flow and not persisted in cookies/localStorage by design.
6. Duplicate Submission Prevention & Anti-Circumvention
Survwin uses technical controls to prevent duplicate submissions and reward abuse. These controls may rely on cookies, localStorage/sessionStorage markers, device/browser signals, and server-side verification.
- No circumvention: Clearing cookies/storage, switching browsers, using private/incognito mode, rotating devices, or using tools intended to bypass submission limits may be treated as fraud.
- Verification takes precedence: Client-side markers are not the only control. We may validate completion and eligibility using server-side checks.
- Integrity actions: Where abuse is suspected or confirmed, Survwin may withhold or reverse points, invalidate submissions, restrict access, or apply account sanctions.
7. Consent and Controls
By using Survwin, you acknowledge that strictly necessary and security-related Tracking Technologies are required for platform operation. You can control cookies via your browser settings; however, blocking them may prevent access to surveys or reward features.
If you disable or delete cookies/storage, you may need to re-verify, repeat certain steps, or lose eligibility for points on tasks that require continuity.
8. Retention Periods
Retention varies by purpose and may include:
- Session cookies/sessionStorage: typically deleted when the session ends (e.g., closing the browser/tab).
- Preference cookies/localStorage: may persist up to 12 months, unless changed or deleted earlier.
- Integrity markers: may persist until the task/survey expires, is completed, or is administratively reset.
- Security signals: may be stored for a reasonable period to investigate abuse and protect the platform.
9. Third-Party Services
Survwin may use third-party infrastructure providers for hosting, security, rate-limiting, and error monitoring. These providers may set strictly necessary cookies or process technical logs to deliver the service.
- No behavioral advertising: Survwin does not permit third-party behavioral tracking or retargeting cookies for marketing profiling.
- Minimum necessary sharing: Where third parties are involved, we aim to share only what is needed to operate and secure the platform.
- Compliance: Third-party providers are expected to handle data under appropriate contractual and security safeguards.
10. Security of Tracking Data
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect Tracking Technologies from misuse, including integrity checks and validation mechanisms. However, no client-side storage is completely tamper-proof. For this reason, Survwin may rely on server-side verification as the final authority.
11. Children’s Privacy
Survwin is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or maintain Tracking Technologies for users under 13. If we become aware of such use, we may restrict access and remove related records to the extent practicable.
12. Policy Updates
We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal, or security changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of Survwin after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
13. Enforcement
Survwin may take enforcement actions to protect platform integrity, including submission invalidation, points reversal, temporary restrictions, permanent bans, and other administrative actions when misuse or circumvention is detected.
If a dispute arises, Survwin’s integrity logs and verification records may be used to evaluate eligibility and determine outcomes.
